We are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a well-established business operating across Preston and Blackburn. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive finance team, working closely with the Financial Controller and gaining exposure across a broad range of finance duties.
This role would suit someone who is hands-on, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, with responsibilities including:
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Liaising with budget holders to obtain invoice approvals
- Preparing and processing supplier payments in line with agreed terms
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies
- Processing employee expenses and company credit card transactions
- Supporting month-end processes
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience within an Accounts Payable or similar finance role
- Has strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Is confident using Excel and accounting systems
- Is proactive, adaptable, and able to “get stuck in”
- Is comfortable working with established systems and processes
- Can work both independently and as part of a team
Location & Working Pattern
- Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
- 2 days per week in Preston and 1 day per week in Blackburn
- You must be able to drive due to travel between sites
- Preston office is within walking distance of the train station (no on-site parking)
- On-site parking available at the Blackburn office
Additional Information
- 35-hour working week (typically 9am–5pm, with some flexibility)
- Immediate requirement – quick interview process (initial team interview followed by face-to-face)
