We're recruiting on behalf of an established and growing accountancy practice in Lancaster that is investing in its team and has ambitious plans for the future. With a growing client base and plenty of opportunity ahead, this is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than just a role preparing accounts.

The Role

As an Accounts Senior, you'll manage a varied portfolio of clients, taking ownership of accounts preparation and building strong relationships along the way. You'll work closely with the Directors and wider team, with plenty of opportunity to develop your skills and take on additional responsibility as the practice continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounts for a varied portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Complete accounts preparation to a high standard and within agreed deadlines
  • Support with tax and general accounting work
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Manage your own workload and deadlines
  • Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support
  • Work closely with the Directors and wider team
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the practice

About You

You'll ideally have previous experience within an accountancy practice and be comfortable managing your own portfolio of clients.

You'll ideally have:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice
  • Experience preparing accounts for a range of clients
  • Good communication and client relationship skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • A proactive approach and genuine interest in developing your career

Qualification isn't the only thing that matters here, so AAT qualified or qualified by experience candidates will be considered.
