The Role

You'll lead our efforts in income generation, relationship building, and marketing and communications. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Income Generation: Spearheading efforts to secure funding through donations, grants, and commissioning opportunities. You'll lead collaborative income generation approaches, ensuring sustainable financial support for the charity and our members.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivating strategic partnerships across the public, commercial, and social sectors to expand our influence and membership base. You'll represent the charity in key forums, advocating for economic development, climate action, and social justice.
  • Commercial Service Development: Driving the growth of commercial services and partnerships to support the VCFSE sector and broader community. From bid writing to business center development, you'll innovate and execute initiatives that foster inclusive economic growth. However, this could be outsourced/external support.

  • Experience: Proven track record in income generation, partnership development, and team leadership.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, networking, and project management skills, with a knack for storytelling and marketing.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of marketing principles, public policy, and the VCFSE landscape.

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary Range: Upwards of £42K full-time (pro rota for part-time hours).
  • Working Hours: Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with 37 hours per week. Operating a flexi-scheme, and job share is possible in negotiation with the CEO.
  • Place of Work: While the main place of work will be Blackburn, hybrid working is possible in negotiation.
  • Holiday Entitlement: Receive 22 days per annum, plus the days between Christmas and New Year, rising to 25 days per annum following 5 years of continuous service.
  • Pensions: Benefit from a 7% employer contribution to a defined contribution pension scheme, with employees required to contribute 1%.
  • Staff Development: We support continuous professional development, with access to accredited training. You'll have opportunities for external training identified and agreed through the appraisal process, and we'll support membership of professional bodies and attendance at relevant conferences.
