Due to rapid growth our client is looking to for a HR Officer to support their management team. It’s a very exciting time for the company as they enjoy building their brand and growing the company to even greater heights.

The successful candidate will have responsibility and accountability for the full employee life cycle and will be involved in all areas of the personnel department.

 

Your new role will include…

  • Provide advice and support to managers and staff for all HR related matters in accordance with company policies
  • Prepare for and attend as appropriate disciplinary, absence and grievance meetings, including preparation of all documents
  • Undertake general HR tasks as required
  • Take responsibility for the continued clearance of engineers through the Disclosure & Barring Service
  • Assist with other security clearances as required to ensure staff are cleared in a timely manner to attend site
  • Communicate new employee details, prepare for new starters and induction of staff
  • Assist with both the weekly and monthly payroll including processing expenses to provide cover during holidays or sickness
  • Updating and maintaining company databases, including holidays, sickness, employee details
  • Work with the in-house recruiter by preparing job descriptions, posting adverts and assisting with the hiring process
  • Assist line managers in the management of poor performance, advising on solutions and implementation of procedures
  • Contribute to the development of HR policies, as requested
  • Remain up to date with current legislation, initiatives and best practice within HR

 

About you…

  • CIPD Level 5 or above is desirable
  • Experience of working in a HR Advisory position is essential
  • Knowledge of employment law is essential
  • Ability to balance administrative duties whilst responding to telephone and e-mail queries
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a great telephone manner
  • Very organised, ability to maintain accurate records and able to adhere to legal requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Competent using Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Confident deal with difficult and stressful situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff at varying levels throughout the company
  • Able to adapt your approach to differing situations and personalities in order to reach a positive outcome
  • Commitment to confidentiality and data protection
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
