Are you organised, detail-focused and experienced in processing customer orders? Do you enjoy working in a busy environment where accuracy and customer service are equally important?
We’re working with a successful and growing Lancashire-based business that supplies specialist equipment to trade customers across the UK. As part of continued growth, they’re looking to appoint a Sales Order Processor to join their busy sales support team at their Blackburn headquarters.
The Role
As Sales Order Processor, you’ll manage customer orders from receipt through to completion, ensuring all information is entered accurately and orders are progressed efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing customer orders received by telephone, email and online
- Accurately entering sales orders onto the company ERP system
- Checking product availability and confirming lead times with customers
- Preparing and sending quotations where required
- Keeping customers updated on order status, stock availability and delivery schedules
- Maintaining accurate customer and order records
- Processing order amendments, cancellations and returns
- Assisting with pricing enquiries and product information requests
- Handling customer complaints professionally and escalating where appropriate
About You
You’ll ideally have previous experience within order processing, sales administration, customer service or internal sales, and be comfortable working with systems and managing multiple orders and enquiries at once.
You’ll also bring:
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good organisation and time management
- The ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and Outlook
- The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team
- A proactive approach to resolving customer queries and problems
Experience within wholesale, distribution, logistics or a related environment would be advantageous, as would previous experience using an ERP or CRM system.
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) would also be beneficial, although full training can be provided.
