We’re recruiting on behalf of a successful and fast-growing, family-run property company with an expanding portfolio of industrial and commercial assets across the UK. They’re now looking for a proactive and detail-driven Service Charge Accountant to join their close-knit team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced and dynamic working environment, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of service charge budgets, reconciliations, and reporting across a national property portfolio. You’ll work closely with finance, property management, and external stakeholders to deliver a high standard of financial service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual service charge budgets and tenant apportionments

  • Manage year-end service charge reconciliations in line with RICS guidelines

  • Work closely with property and facilities managers to ensure budget accuracy

  • Monitor actuals vs. budget throughout the financial year

  • Liaise with tenants to resolve service charge queries and provide clear breakdowns

  • Maintain and reconcile service charge accounts in the property management system

  • Produce reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders

  • Support continuous improvement of service charge processes and controls

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a service charge accounting role, ideally within commercial or industrial property

  • Strong understanding of RICS service charge code of practice

  • Experience with property management software (e.g., Qube, MRI, Yardi, or similar)

  • AAT qualified or working towards ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience)

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Strong Excel and financial reporting skills

  • Confident communicator, comfortable in a collaborative, fast-moving team
