Cummins Mellor are recruiting an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to work for a highly successful client in Blackburn. The company specialise in manufacturing medical devices and are experts in this field, this is a great opportunity as it offers progression.

The team leader will be responsible for organising warehouse teams to complete stores tasks to the required standards of quality and efficiency, and to train and support new and longer serving warehouse staff in developing the technical and behavioral skills necessary to perform to a high level.

Responsibilities of Warehouse Team Leader:

  • Support the Warehouse Supervisor in work planning and provide supervisory support in organising, supporting and monitoring warehouse staff to complete allocated tasks to required quality standards and within target timescales.
  • Carry out Warehouse Operative duties and tasks as required to support achievement of daily and weekly goals.
  • Provide effective training and retraining of warehouse staff in the skills and behaviors needed to perform to a high level.
  • Ensure that all warehouse activities are carried out in compliance with the QMS (Quality Management System), the HSMS (Health & Safety Management System) and other relevant company policies and objectives.
  • Ensure that daily/weekly/monthly checks are carried out and properly documented for defined activities including mechanical handling equipment, warehouse racking, 5S Checks and cleaning rota.
  • Report unsafe practices or equipment and communicate problems to the appropriate line manager.
  • Ensure EFACS transactions, for which warehouse are responsible, are carried out on a timely basis with the objectives of achieving 100% accuracy and minimising the elapsed time between material movement and EFACS transaction.
  • Investigate and resolve stock and location errors identified though PI (Perpetual Inventory) checks or through regular stores activities in liaison with Materials and Production teams.
  • Deputise for the Warehouse Manager in their absence to ensure day to day operational activities are uninterrupted.
  • Any other duties as required by your Line Manager.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Team Leader
  • Licenced to operate counterbalance FLT or equivalent with expectation to obtain further licenses as required for the role
  • Great communication skills
  • Keen to complete additional training
